Main Street Program proudly nominates Red Rock Fantasy at Los
Abrigados Resort & Spa for Arizona Main Streets Best Special Event. Red
Rock Fantasy is held annually in the Sedona Main Street District on
twenty-two acres of Los Abrigados Resort & Spa property.
Red Rock Fantasy
was conceived over 14 years ago by ILX Resorts Incorporated, Chairman
Joseph Martori, as a way to help increase occupancy at Los Abrigados
Resort & Spa during what was a slow period of the year. Red Rock
Fantasy has evolved to become a much anticipated community event and has
now changed the economics throughout the SMSP District from slow to
bustling business during November, December, and January when this event
is held.
Red Rock Fantasy invites and houses 50
families from all over Arizona to participate in this annual light
extravaganza. The resort provides each of the 50 groups with 12,000
lights and assorted materials to fuel their “labor of love.” They have
one week to set up their display and they don’t have to worry about
their accommodations, meals or entertainment costs thanks to Los
Abrigados. Red Rock Fantasy has become Sedona’s newest tradition. It is
the start to our holiday season enjoyed by family and friends.

Red Rock Fantasy has drawn in hundreds
of thousands of visitors to the SMSP District since its inception.
Merchants and Lodging establishments in the SMSP District happily tag
onto the Fantasy event by providing discounted or even complimentary
tickets as part of their own packages for their guests and customers.
Red Rock Fantasy brings hundreds of thousands of dollars into our
District and stimulates business, raising the revenue bottom line for
our community.
The competition is intense since each
year the winner, determined by popular vote of event attendees, receives
a one-week timeshare at Premiere Vacation Club for life, donated by ILX
Resorts. The estimated proceeds have exceeded well over $275,000 since
the first event. More than $200,000 of those proceeds have been donated
to charitable organizations. In recent years, the recipients include
non-profits located within the SMSP District boundaries and SMSP
Members, Sedona Historical Society and the Institute of EcoTourism.
Red Rock Fantasy has taken this event
to the unthinkable next, and next, and next level - more lights,
contestants, extra activities and programs to help our District
businesses increase their revenue potential during our holiday season.
